Myths are the stories we tell ourselves to explain the world around us and within us.
This class explores ways you too can tap into the many powers of myth to tell the stories that move you, no matter the genre, style, or medium.

Learn how to create stories that can change the world.

This full day in-person workshop will include writing exercises and film clips.

Topics covered:

  • Mythic Themes – many more than just the Hero’s Journey [Lost Love Rescued, Twins, Search for the Promised Land, the Wake-up Call, and more]
  • 3 Mythic Statements – What they are, where they go, who says them.
  • 5 ArchePaths – Warrior, Monk, Scientist, Magician, Lover.
  • 3 levels of Symbolism.
  • 3 levels of the Dark Side.
  • Crafting your Antagonist.
  • Designing the danger by selecting appropriate aspects of the Dark Side.
  • 8 categories of our Next Myths.
