James Bonnet's Storymaking Seminar

Master the Art of Your Screenplay or Novel Through an
 Understanding of Story

Whether you are a professional or novice writer or filmmaker, James Bonnet will take you beyond Classical Story Structure and The Hero’s Journey to a more complete understanding of the fundamentals you need to create your own powerful and successful stories and story films.

The Quintessential Screenwriting and Storymaking Seminar

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Screenwriters, Directors, Producers, Novelists, Playwrights and anyone
else whose livelihood depends on knowing what makes a story great and successful.

THE TWO DAY SEMINAR

As you move through a step-by-step journey from the fascination to the final draft, you will learn about the creative unconscious self (the source of creativity) and a creative process that has the power to guide your storymaking and even to change your life. You will then take an in-depth look at all the basic concepts, important story structures and principles, including the Golden Paradigm and The Storywheel - the story models that contain the hidden structures all great stories have in common. As you go along, you will also learn about the essence of story - that without which there would be no story, the high concept great idea, how to create charismatic characters, genre, metaphor (the secret language of great stories) and the creation of ideas that will be talked about, generate excitement and compel the right people to get involved.
Plus a thorough analysis of many of today’s most powerful and successful stories and films.

As seen in Script Magazine:

"Top Nine Online Screenwriting Courses (Plus One)" by Andrew Gnerre,
 "10. James Bonnet's Storymaking
"So, no, this isn't an online course, but James Bonnet is too strong of a screenwriting education resource to ignore. Having spent the past twenty years as a sort of screenwriting mystic, Bonnet has been hard at work unraveling the inner workings of successful stories and spitting out inspired theories on 'story alchemy' and the origin of story. Bonnet has taught these secrets to hungry students for years and now has two seminars on the horizon, one in Los Angeles and one in Nans Sous Sainte Anne, France. Both writing classes give students the opportunity to hear an expanded take on Bonnet's story tome "Stealing Fire from the Gods" and sharpen their screenwriting blades for battle. More details can be found on his site, which is itself a useful resource."
