He is president of the Songer Institute for the Forensic and Criminal Justice Sciences, an international pedagogical think tank for curriculum development. He holds a Master of Forensic Sciences and has twice served as a department chair of criminal justice, having advised in the development of sixteen academic forensic sciences laboratories and programs.
