Mario O. Moreno
Mario O. Moreno is the writer/creator of Maker Studio's LA Series, executive produced and co-directed by James Franco. In addition to LA Series, Mario is the writer/creator/executive producer of Untitled Miami Series that was optioned by Franco's RabbitBandini Productions, and is currently at work on their third collaboration, a feature adaptation. Mario earned a bachelor’s degree in film from Miami International University, where he gained experience writing, producing, directing, and editing short films, eventually winning an Outstanding Filmmaker award for his thesis film, The Sellout.
INCAA produced his psychological-thriller feature film script Omission. His co-written animated action-thriller/dark comedy, Boogie the Oily (based on a comic strip), was the first 3D animated feature film made in Latin America. It has screened in film festivals all over the world.
Along with being an Academy Nicholl Fellowships Quarterfinalist, Final Draft's Big Break Semifinalist and Austin Film Festival Finalist, Mario is the co-author of The Pocket Screenwriting Guide: 120 Tips for Getting to FADE OUT. He coached the first three winners of the Industry Insider Contest through the process of writing their scripts, including Tyler Marceca, whose script, The Disciple Program, was acquired by Universal after a bidding war. Mario also writes the column Screenwriter's Guidepost for Script Magazine.
