Peter Hedges adapted his first novel, What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, for director Lasse Hallstrsm. His second novel was An Ocean in Iowa. His other screenplay adaptations include A Map of the World and About a Boy, which was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Adapted Screenplay. Also a playwright, Hedges' plays include Baby Anger, Good as New, and Imagining Brad. The Academy Award®-nominated Pieces of April marked his directorial debut. He lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife and two children. |
