Exploring the Internal Story
Jen Grisanti (Author of Story Line: Finding Gold In Your Life Story) and Kim Hudson (Author of The Virgin's Promise: Writing Stories of Feminine Creative, Spiritual and Sexual Awakening) join together for the first time to bring you two different sides of mapping the internal story.
Jen Gristanti's Perspective
The secret to telling strong story is digging deep inside yourself and utilizing your own life experiences and emotions to connect with the audience. As a television executive, Jen Grisanti asked writers about their personal stories and found that many writers had powerful life experiences, yet had surprisingly never drawn upon these for the sake of their writing because these experiences seemed to hit a little too close to home.
In this seminar, you will start by learning about writing a log line for your life which which will open the doors to creating a powerful log line for your character, as well as a log line for the internal part of your story that embodies theme, symbolism and message.
Jen will guide you through how to build characters and story as a way to better understand why your character wants what they want.
Kim Hudson's Perspective
Kim's book, A Virgin's Promise, demystifies the complexities of archetypes and clearly outlines the steps of a virgin's journey to realize her dream. Audiences need to see more than brave, self-sacrificing heroes. They need to see virgins who bring their talents and self-fulfilling joys to life.
In this portion of the seminar, you will learn the essential nature of the Virgin archetype, which is the journey to be authentic despite what everybody else thinks you should be. You will also contrast this to the classic hero archetypes to see the essential difference.
This class is about understanding story from an emotional and spiritual point of view. It will help you to deepen your story and connect with your audience from a stronger place.
