Blockbuster Plots: Plot Workshop for Writers of Children's and Young Adult Fiction

Learn how to build a Dramatic Action plot-line, Character Emotional Development plot-line, and Thematic Significance plot-line for your children's, middle school, and young adult fiction. Both the Scene Tracker and the Plot Planner tools for writers are demonstrated.

Using scenes from Al Capone Does My Shirts by Gennifer Choldenko, this DVD shows children's book authors and authors of middle grade chapter books and young adult novels how to deepen their scenes and create a muli-layered plot.

This interactive DVD is formatted like a book so you can either watch "play the movie" in its entirety or, for help in a specific area, click on the "lesson selection" chapters.

The chapters are as follows:

1) Introduction
2) Plot Definition
3) Character Emotional Development Profile
4) Plot Planner
5) Scene vs Summary
6) Plot the Middle
7) Plot the End
8) Scene Tracker

If you learn best by "seeing" the information rather than reading about it, this is the Plot Tool for you.

"Fantastic workshop."
