When his mother Sandra (Jessica Lange) tries to reunite them, Will must learn how to separate fact from fiction as he comes to terms with his father's great feats and great failings. Meet the Author: John August

John August wrote and co-produced Go, which debuted at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival. Shortly thereafter, he brought the novel Big Fish: A Story of Mythic Proportions to Columbia Pictures and spent several years developing the book into a screenplay, during which time he maintained close contact with the book's author, Daniel Wallace, who offered notes and suggestions on each draft
