Michael A. Garcia
Michael Garcia began his career as an Executive Assistant at 20th Century Fox Television twelve years ago. While at the 20th, he began to learn television comedy development and production. This experience would take him to his next job as the Director of Development at Industry Entertainment, a Management/Production company. Michael came to Industry to help them start their television department and was a part of the development and production of network comedies and dramas, including The Education of Max Bickford for CBS, War Stories for NBC, and Haunted for UPN.
When an opportunity arose to join HBO in the Drama Series department, Michael left Industry to join the world of pay cable. Over seven years with HBO, he became the Vice President and Co-Head of Drama Series for the Network working on shows including THE SOPRANOS, SIX FEET UNDER, OZ, THE WIRE, CARNIVALE, DEADWOOD, BIG LOVE, TRUE BLOOD, TREME and BOARDWALK EMPIRE.
After leaving HBO in 2009, Michael founded his own company, White Crown Media, Inc. to focus on his writing, directing, producing and consulting projects. He is writing the screenplay Edgar Cayce: An American Prophet for Ensemble Entertainment, and To Grandmaʼs House We Go for Consolidated International Marketing Group. On the directing front, he is shooting In The Way, a documentary film about the life of Zen philosopher Alan Watts, and just completed shooting Visions of Peace, a documentary film about the restoration of sight to blind Palestinian refugees in the West Bank.
In addition to being a Producer on Edgar Cayce, he is also an Executive Producer on a new hour-long television drama, The Veil, by writer Greg J. Pruss, in association with Management 360 and Hertzberg Media. Michael is also working as a Consultant for Lionsgate Television helping them develop Spanish language television formats for the US market through their Televisa deal. Michael is represented by CAA and is a graduate of Yale University with a BA in Economics.
